Hwang In-yeop and Cha Eun-woo’s Moments from True Beauty
True Beauty is a romantic-comedy drama about Lim Ju-gyeong (played by Moon Ga-young) who loves using makeup to hide her face. Everything she does is to fight the discomfort of her appearance. She is actually a bright student who is full of enthusiasm but always refuses to appear without makeup. Makeup is considered a way to restore confidence and self-esteem. This drama is an adaptation of a hit webtoon with a similar title that was published in 2018. This webtoon by Yaongyi has garnered 4 million readers worldwide, including from the United States, Japan, and France. True Beauty‘s romance is even more unique with the bromance scene between Hwang In-yeop and Cha Eun-woo. Lee Su-ho (played by Cha Eun-woo) and Han Seo-jun (played by Hwang In-yeop) used to be good friends. Their relationship became strained after there was a misunderstanding between Su-ho and Seo-jun regarding the death of their best friend. Over time, thankfully, the misunderstanding begins to come to light. Both begin to put their egos aside, and the scent of bromance became entwined between them. Here are some of the funniest bromance moments throughout the True Beauty episodes! After Su-ho and Seo-jun have an accident, they are forced to be treated in the same room at the hospital. Seo-jun whose arm is broken can’t go to the bathroom by himself. He actually hates this condition because he inevitably has to ask for help from Su-ho. Su-ho finally helps Seo-jun to the bathroom. This scene is very funny because even though they are lazy, they still help each other, too. And, the two of them even look similar. When Seo-jun can’t use his hands and Su-ho can’t use his feet. Both have to help each other. At the time, Seo-jun can’t take his clothes off so he asks Su-ho to help him. Su-ho is forced to help Seo-jun undress. Later, while Su-ho is helping Seo-jun, they both stumble and fall together on the bed. At the same time, Joo-kyeong suddenly comes and is surprised to see two men in front of him sleeping together. Seo-jun overhears Su-ho talking to his father about Se-yeon’s situation. As it turns out, his father was one of the reasons Se-yeon suffered before his death. Seo-jun finally realizes what really happened between Su-ho and their late friend Jung Se-yeon (played by SF9’s Chani). It makes Seo-jun feel guilty for having misunderstood all this time. Seo-jun may seem like a tough guy, but he has a melancholic heart. Once he finds out that Su-ho didn’t betray Se-yeon, he immediately forgives him. Seo-jun loves his friend and quickly sympathizes with Su-ho’s suffering. On the anniversary of Se-yeon’s death, Seo-jun and Su-ho visit their friend’s grave. The two reminisce about their time together with Se-yeon. This is a touching moment as Seo-jun and Su-ho share an emotional moment. Su-ho and Seo-jun experience a tragic event when their best friend dies. They have to face many things together after the death of their best friend. Even though there was a misunderstanding and the relationship was tenuous, now they can understand each other’s situation, and the bond between them was strengthened again. The moment of Su-ho and Seo-jun reuniting is so funny plus the following scene. Su-ho and Seo-jun are sitting on the bench again waiting for the vehicle. Suddenly, a group of thugs comes. These thugs are looking for trouble and challenge them to a fight. Both are forced to flee. Since Su-ho’s legs haven’t fully recovered and he can’t run, Seo-jun ends up carrying Su-ho on his back. With Su-ho’s weight behind him, he can’t run fast. Finally, they fall into a pile of animal dung. “It was fun filming with Hwang In-yeop (Seo-jun), especially the scene at the hospital. Our dialogue was finished, but we continued to do ad-libs. The shooting process was very fun,” Cha Eun-woo said. He said he often discussed with Hwang In-yeop and Moon Ga-young behind the scenes to further deepen their respective roles on the small screen. That’s what made the three of them close behind the camera. “When we got together, we immediately practiced like, ‘What if Suho did this?’ Then, we shared our thoughts, ‘I think it would be better if it was like this.’ I feel like this made the scene even more fun.”
“The thing I like about Ga-young and In-yeop, Moon Ga-young is very smart. Hwang In-yeop is very kind and understanding. The actors who are my classmates are very nice. Everything was fun, especially the field trip part. High school, so I feel satisfied,” Cha Eun-woo said.
