Pre-Debut Story
JeA is actually the person who’s responsible for B.E.G’s formation. She was even involved in the selection of other members aside from herself. First, she chose Miryo, who made a name for herself as a female rapper that has been collaborating with Gil Seong-joon from Leessang. Second, she chose Narsha, who JeA refers to as a ‘talented singer from her high school days’ and finally, JeA and the other two members chose Ga-in who has been eliminated from the show Battle Shin Hwa. Before the debut of Brown Eyed Girls, JeA along with Miryo, Narsha, and Ga-in had appeared on several small shows under the name Crescendo. The name Brown Eyed Girls was used when they officially debuted in 2006. She then became the leader and main vocalist of the group, leading B.E.G to their success as now.

JeA, Miryo, Narsha, and Ga-in were promoting on several small shows under the name Crescendo for about three years. The group then debut as a ‘faceless group’ which means they didn’t reveal any visual of themselves and didn’t even make an appearance on their own music video. On March 2nd, 2006, they released their debut album titled Your Story with the lead single “Come Closer.” Their debut album received high praise from critics but did not make much success commercially. They then re-released the album that includes a new song titled “Hold the Line” (which was sampled from “Push The Button” by Sugababes and “Technologic” by Daft Punk). The song became a hit instantly in Korea and even received global popularity also. The popularity of the song made it included in the game Pump It Up.
Indeed, the song was very catchy and unique in terms of the electronic and dance-pop beat. First reported from the media outlet News1 on May 28th, 2020, it was revealed that JeA was gonna release a new song for her solo comeback in June. This circulating news had also been confirmed by the Mystic Story agency and it was further stated that the song to be released by JeA was written by IU, who is known as a reliable singer-songwriter. The track, titled “Greedyy” features MAMAMOO’s rapper Moon-byul and was released on June 12th, 2020.
