Elkie is the lead vocalist, lead dancer, and visual of CLC. Elkie was introduced as one of the new CLC members along with Kwon Eun-bin in February 2016. Elkie was selected through the Cube Global Audition and joined Cube in 2015. At the audition, she sang “Closer,” a song by Taeyeon of Girls’ Generation. She was a fan of CLC and was interested in K-pop, Korean dramas, and the released CLC new music video. She watched it secretly in the school bathroom. Elkie is the only member who does not share the same nationality as other foreign members in Cube Entertainment. Elkie can speak Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, and English. Elkie’s representative fruit is cherry. Elkie appeared in the music video of BTOB’s “I’ll Be Your Man.” Her favorite season is fall. She likes the lonely feeling of autumn. She likes the color white the most, although her favorite color changes constantly. She is close to Cosmic Girl’s/WJSN’s Cheng Xiao. She is also a good friend of TWICE’s Tzuyu and Gugudan’s Sally.
Her hobbies are watching K-dramas, collecting shoes, acting, and Chinese dance. On the V Live broadcast on July 17th, 2018, Elkie said that she likes sci-fi movies and dislikes romantic movies. In addition, Elkie does not watch animations. According to other CLC members, Elkie is the most hygienic member. She is a big eater. Seunghee also described Elkie as a “stomach that never rests.” Elkie’s favorite food is steak and cake. Throughout CLC’s Cheat Key, it was revealed that Elkie’s hobby is exploring restaurants. She can endure sleep, but sometimes she sleeps while eating. Elkie has expressed her love for Taeyeon and has been invited to a solo concert. Elkie also attended a Super Junior concert. When Elkie was younger, she was in an accident and hurt her wrist, which is why the bone on her wrist sticks out a little bit. Elkie appeared in the Korean drama Rich’s Family Son (2018). Elkie’s Pre-Debut Era
Elkie was a member of the Hong Kong girl group called HONEY BEES. She wasn’t particularly involved in the group. She thought that it was a hobby, and she felt the group was more of an academy crew. Elkie’s Debut with CLC
Elkie was introduced to the public and made her debut with CLC in February 2016. She was added to the group with Kwon Eun-bin. She officially debuted on February 29, 2016, with the release of CLC’s third EP, Refresh. Elkie’s position in CLC is the lead vocalist. She is also the lead dancer of the group. Unlike Seungyeon and Yujin, who learned professional dance, Elkie briefly learned Chinese dance and had experience in a dance crew in Hong Kong. She is quick to learn choreography and specializes in cover dancing. Despite living in Korea for a short time, Elkie’s pronunciation sounds native.
