Debut Era
Jney debuted with D-Unit in January 2013. The teaser image of her introduction to D-Unit was released before D-Unit’s comeback stage. GP Basic fans worried that her participation in D-Unit would mean disbandment of GP Basic. Jney returned to GP Basic in July 2013.
Golden Era
2015 and 2016 were the golden years of Jney. She participated in various dramas and music programs. Jney acted alongside IU and Kim Su-hyun in the 2015 KBS2 TV drama Producer. Her most prominent activity must be her performance as one of the contestants of Unpretty Rapstar. On the program, she showed her rapping talent and competed with other young rappers.
Disbandment
D-Unit lasted merely two years. The first member, Ujin departed in 2013. Additional member, Jney, joined in January 2013 only to return to her previous group six months later. Jney participated in GP Basic’s last single, “Pika Burnjuck” in February 2014. However, in early 2015, the group held a promotion event in China without her participation.
