Pre-debut Stories
In the beginning, Mithra Jin was a poet and debuted as a singer in the group called K-Ryders in 2000 which disbanded in 2002. The group included J-Win, DJ D-Tones, Kyung Bin. Not stopping to reach his dream, he continued his efforts and decided to join EPIK HIGH, a three-member alternative hip-hop group UNDER Woolim Entertainment. The group Epik High itself was formed in 2001 when Tablo, one of the members returned to South Korea. Mintra met Tablo in public parks while doing poetry readings. Then Mithra Jin also DJ Tukutz joined as they were also part of the underground hip-hop scene in Seoul. In 2002, they proudly made their first performance in Everland which brought them closer to debuting with the album Map of the Human Soul in 2003 and then, reaching peak success with the album High Society in 2004.

Mithra Jin met Tablo, who had just came back from Vancouver, Canada, in public places in 2001. Then with DJ Tukutz, they started their journey in the hip-hop genre performing in CB Mass as part of the Movement Crew. Yet in that era, hip-hop was considered unpopular compared to other genres. They were shouted as “lyrically complicated music” and were not coherent with the K-Pop stream. However, EPIC HIGH managed to catch small audiences in their performance at an amusement park, Everland in 2002. They got a contract with Woolim Entertainment in 2003 and released the debut song “Map of the Human Soul.” The group got more recognized after releasing High Society in 2004. In 2010, Mithra Jin had to complete his mandatory military service for two years. He registered in Chuncheon as an infantry rifle soldier and member of a military band and a GOP soldier before settling at the Defense Media Agency (DEMA). Then the group, EPIK HIGH had been on hiatus for three years. After finishing his military service in 2012, Mithra Jin and DJ Tukutz decided not to renew their contracts with Woolim Entertainment. He and Epik High moved to YG Entertainment and came back with the album 99 in September 2012.

Mithra Jin revealed that he began dating artist Kwon Da-hyun on December 22nd, 2014. They have been going public since attending a VIP premiere of a new movie How to Steal a Dog, they were very comfortably holding hands together although all the cameras, reporters, and photographers were looking at them. A year later, on August 10th, 2015, he announced that they will be married. They revealed that they met through the introduction of a mutual acquaintance and began dating over the year. They got support from their label and agency. Mithra Jin and Kwon Da-hyun married on October 2nd, 2015. Signed a new contract with William Morris Endeavor
On February 19th, 2019, EPIK HIGH left YG Entertainment and signed a new contract with William Morris Endeavor. EPIK HIGH also released their new album on March 11th titled Sleepless, and the album managed to get a good rank on the Gaon Chart at position 8 and got ranked 6th on the US World Album Billboard Charts. Mithra Jin with his group EPIK HIGH was supposed to perform at Coachella this April 2020, but due to the pandemic, the popular music festival Coachella had to be postponed. They got invited to Coachella along with BIG BANG, but due to the indication of COVID-19 peak, the Coachella did not take place at all in 2020.
