Her birthplace is Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Education: Hanyang Women’s University She has an older sister. On July 4th, 2011, Ji-sook’s mother, unfortunately, passed away from a chronic disease. Her specialty is doing nail art. Her hobbies are writing articles and drawing. She is good at cooking. She was in Rainbow’s subunit Rainbow Pixie. Before she debuted as a member of RAINBOW, she was in a rock band that had won numerous competitions. Debut with RAINBOW
Ji-sook is a former member of RAINBOW. It was a South Korean girl group formed by DSP Media. The group consisted of 7 members: Jaekyung, Woori, Seungah, Noeul, Yoonhye, Jisook, and Hyunyoung. The group officially debuted on November 14th, 2009, with their first mini-album Gossip Girl. On November 6th, 2009, a music video for “Gossip Girl” was released.
The group released another single “A” on August 12th, 2010.
In 2012, DSP Media announced that the group will be forming a subunit as a trio with SeungAh, Ji-sook, and Hyunyoung as members. The subunit’s name was Rainbow Pixie and the girls debuted on January 12th, 2012, with the release of the song “Hoi Hoi” and held their first stage performance on Inkigayo.
Leaving DSP Entertainment, Is RAINBOW Disbanding?
On October 27th, 2016, RAINBOW was officially disbanded after the members of the group decided not to renew their contracts with DSP Media and go their separate ways. Ji-sook shared that the members want to go their separate ways to pursue their own dreams. Prior to the group’s disbandment, the members went to Southeast Asia as their farewell trip. Since then, Ji-sook has been actively promoting in various TV programs and debuted as a solo singer.
Solo Debut
In 2017, Ji-sook debuted as a solo artist under Dmost Entertainment. She released her debut song “Baesisi” featuring BTOB’s Jung Ilhoon.
In 2018, Jisook made a comeback with her digital single “Umbrella” which was released on May 22nd, 2018. It is her first digital single with “Umbrella” as the single’s title track.
On March 4th, 2019, Ji-sook released her first mini-album The Star with “Big Dipper” as the title track.
