“Song Request” which successfully topped the iTunes charts in 44 countries and regions was released on Tuesday (1/22/2019).
In addition to successfully topping major music charts in South Korea such as Melon, Genie, Bugs, Naver, and Soribada, the retro nuanced song with sentimental melody also broke the record previously held by Jennie BLACKPINK on global iTunes. And not even 24 hours after it was released, on January 23rd, at 12 a.m. KST “Song Request” managed to master position number 1 on 5 real-time Korean charts, namely Melon, Genie, Bugs, Naver, and Soribada. Also topping the iTunes charts in 44 regions marks the best record for any South Korean female artist. The top position achieved by the song “Song Request” is not without a reason. Because the newly released song has been long-awaited by fans of Lee So-ra, ARMY (as a loyal BTS fan), and High Skool (a term for loyal fans of Epic High).
