About HALO’s Dino’s Personality
As the oldest member of the group, Dino is often referred to as the ‘father’ figure of the group. And due to his responsible and thoughtful nature, many people say that he matched the role very well. At the beginning of their career, the group was caught in a lot of controversies with fans as many reports starting from the members dating to giving the fans’ gifts to their girlfriends and throwing away the gifts started to come to the surface. Dino himself was once caught in a controversy when he composed a poem with a fan’s name in it using an inappropriate word. The group then launched an official press release on November 30th, 2015, clarifying the rumors said that the members of HALO met directly with their fans in person to clear up the misunderstanding. In the meeting, the group was reported to have apologized and clarified the rumors with their fans. Dino, as one of the members who got into a controversy, uploaded a personal letter through the official website. He didn’t try to defend himself and instead sincerely apologized to the fans. He wrote, “I feel responsible that I wasn’t able to take care of my team as the oldest member. We tried to approach fans like a friendly neighborhood oppa, but I think we just created more misunderstandings. Please accept our sincere apologies.”
He also participated in the ALS campaign and supported the “Ice Bucket Challenge,” proving his helpful nature.

HALO’s Dino Left High Star Entertainment
On May 8th, 2019, High Star Entertainment as the agency of HALO released an official statement regarding the end of HALO’s exclusive contracts with them back in April 2019. All six members of the group, including Dino, will not return to the agency as they ended their contracts. Below is the official statement of High Star Entertainment: Meanwhile, Dino is currently still waiting for his release since the beginning of his military enlistment on August 21st, 2018, and was placed in the Infantry Division Unit recruit training center in Hwacheon Gangwon Province. No news has been released regarding his future activities plan. This is our official statement regarding today’s reports on the expiration of HALO’s contract. Our exclusive contracts with HALO’s Ooon, Dino, Jaeyong, Heecheon, Inhaeng, and Yoondong have expired as of April 2019, and we are in discussion about future activities with all six members including Dino, who is currently serving in the army. We sincerely thank HALO’s fans for their interest and love, and we will do our best to continue to have an amicable relationship [with the members of HALO].
