Jang Ki-young and Hyeri have met for several projects in the past and then reunited through the drama My Roommate Is a Gumiho. It was a Webtoon-based drama and successfully got a lot of attention when the first episode aired on May 26, 2021, on tvN and iQiyi. The drama is narrated about Lee Dam (Hyeri) is a female college student who hasn’t dated before. One day, she accidentally takes away fox beads by swallowing them. Turns out, the fox beads belonged to a 999-year-old Gumiho (nine-tailed fox) named Shin Woo-yeo (Jang Ki-yong) who wanted to be a human. Due to the incident, Woo-yeo and Dam start living together while trying to solve the problem. With the intriguing plot and cheerful atmosphere, Hyeri and Jang Ki-yong successfully portray the role of Lee Dam and Jang Ki-yong. Many fans have praised their acting and chemistry, and they desire more of their relationship although Hyeri has a boyfriend in real life.
