Legend of The Blue Sea was one of the most popular K-Dramas in 2017 starring famous actor Lee Min-ho and famous actress Jun Ji-hyun. Since the first episodes of the drama, it rapidly gained a lot of attention due to the plot and storyline. Legend of The Blue Sea was released in November 2016 and was on the air until January 2017 for a total of 20 episodes. Now, let us briefly check out the synopsis of Legend of The Blue Sea. The drama tells a story that moves from the past to the present, connecting the old days and modern times. In the old times, there’s Kim Dam-ryeong who was a son of royal descent. He fell in love with a mermaid, Seo Wa. However, at that time, people thought of mermaids as a curse. They get involved in a relationship together which is forbidden making Kim Dam-ryeong send an artifact in the future fort he purpose of reminding them of their love in the past and to bring them together again in the future. Meanwhile, in the modern era, the main character is Heo Joon-jae who is famously known as an expert swindler and due to his abilities as a swindler, he has become the target of a detective. He has managed to earn quite the amount of riches together with his swindler friends, but they have to live in secrecy. Meanwhile, there is a mermaid who is really similar to Seo-wa and she is being called Shim Cheong by Heo Joon-jae. Just like in the past, Heo Joon-jae and Shim Cheong are involved in a love relationship. And this time, Heo Joon-jae also learns about Shim Cheong’s past to avoid all of those forbidden things from ‘their past’ to fight for their love. And here’s the official poster of Legend of The Blue Sea:
Their Relationship
In Legend of The Blue Sea, Lee Min-ho played the role of Heo Joon-jae, while Jun Ji-hyun played the role of Seo Wa/Shim Cheong. Heo Joon-jae is known as an expert swindler, and Seo Wa is a mermaid who has transformed into a human. Their first encounter is quite interesting as Seo Wa appears in Heo Joon-jae’s hotel room in Spain even though they are complete strangers. Due to her foolishness and her oddity, Heo Joon-jae starts calling her Shim Cheong because at first she couldn’t talk or explain anything to him. While they were in Spain, Seo Wa accidentally kisses Heo Joon-jae in her mermaid form and erases his memory through the kiss. Later, back in South Korea, Heo Joon-jae doesn’t remember anything about the mermaid until he meets a weird girl who is actually Seo Wa. Eventually, he is able to remember that the weird girl is the exact weird girl he had met in Spain. As time goes by, Heo Joon-jae helps Seo Wa even though he really dislikes her at first. The two of them fall in love with each other, even though there are a lot of obstacles in their relationship.
