She developed aspirations to be a singer when she was a child. She learned jazz dance from her mother. At some point, she learned tae kwon do and wanted to be tae kwon do athlete. Later, she realized she wanted to be a dancer and joined a dance academy and got interested in singing. Although her father disapproved, she pleaded with him for two years, from the time she was 13 years old until she was 15, and she eventually won her father’s blessing to pursue her dream. To make a long story short, she went to several auditions and was accepted as a trainee by Cube Entertainment in 2016 after constantly improving her singing, dancing, and her mental character. In January 2020, Seo Soojin became part of the first world tour titled “I-Land: Who Am I” that was scheduled to tour 32 different cities around the world, but it was postponed after the coronavirus outbreak due to concerns for the safety and health of the artist, fans, and staff. They also did a charity live-stream concert to raise money for COVID-19 relief on March 26, 2020. Seo Soojin and the group released the official English version of their debut song “Latata” on May 15, 2020.
