KBS’ Big is the first television series by Gong Yoo since being discharged from the military service. Big was aired on KBS2 from June 4th to July 24th, 2012, as a special Monday-Tuesday TV series. Big consisted of 16 episodes and gained an average rating of 8.5 – 8.7%. Big was also aired in Japan and other Asian countries. The drama was enjoyable during its early episodes but heavily criticized for the final episode. The original soundtrack of the series was released on July 27th, 2012. Main Cast Gong Yoo as Kang Kyung-joon/Seo Yoon-jae Lee Min-jung as Gil Da-ran Bae Suzy as Jang Ma-ri Synopsis A substitute teacher, Gil Da-ran, struggles to get her teaching certificate. She has an unfortunate accident involving a doctor, Seo Yoon-jae. Feeling guilty for causing the accident, he treats her until she recovers from the accident. The doctor and patient surprisingly decide to get married. As the marriage ceremony is getting closer, Seo Yoon-jae is becoming less approachable to Gil Da-ran. Meanwhile, in school, Gil Da-ran meets a transfer student from the United States, Kang Kyung-joon who treats everyone badly except for the substitute teacher. One day, Seo Yoon-jae and Kang Kyung-hoon get into a car accident at a bridge. Both of them are plunged into the water. Kang Kyung-hoon ends up in a coma while his spirit is transferred to Seo Yoon-jae’s body. The drama’s main attraction is the funny scenes between a high school student’s spirit in Gong Yoo’s body who is in a relationship with Lee Min-jung. Jang Ma-ri came all the way from the United States to Korea looking for her boyfriend Kang Kyung-joon. Kang Kyung-joon deliberately left her in the United States because he hates seeing her. Jang Ma-ri goes to his school and meets Kang Kyung-joon in Seo Yoon-jae’s body. Kang Jyung-joon is able to talk freely to Jang Ma-ri because he is trapped in Seo Yoon-jae body. However, she nearly catches him because he acts like Kang Kyung-joon.
Kang Kyung-hoon tells his teacher about a password and the reason behind setting the password. The password is his own birthday and he tells the teacher about the date. However, Gil Da-ran can’t remember anything about the password. Feeling disappointed, Kang Kyung-hoon goes to his room while mumbling about his teacher’s lack of memory. SBS’ Secret Garden
Secret Garden is a highly successful SBS television series. It was aired from November 13th, 2010 to January 16th, 2011, every Saturday and Sunday night. It was aired for a total of 20 episodes. Secret Garden earned an average rating of 24.3-24.4%. The last episode had the highest rating, from 31.4 – 35.2%. Secret Garden received numerous awards both at the 2010 SBS Drama Awards and the 47th Paeksang Arts Awards. Main Cast Ha Ji-won as Gil Ra-im Hyun Bin as Kim Joo-won Yoon Sang-hyun as Choi Woo-young Kim Sa-rang as Yoon Seul Synopsis Gil Ra-im, a poor stuntwoman, accidentally meets rich guy, Kim Joo-won. Kim Joo-won is the CEO of a high-end department store and he looks down at the poor stuntwoman. When they meet, both constantly bicker at each other. However, Kim Joo-won soon finds himself stunned by her coolness and starts getting interested in her. He always thinks about her and decides to pursue her. Initially, she despises him but gradually develops feelings for the handsome CEO. Kim Jo-woon and Gil Ra-im start seeing each other. Kim Joo-won’s mother develops negative feelings for the stuntwoman and decides to go against their relationship. The situation gets complicated when they meet in a garden and switch bodies several times. Hyun Bin received praise for his role as an arrogant CEO and feminine man. The scenes where both actors switch bodies and interact with each other are very funny and enjoyable. Concept: Soul switching between lovers One of the most memorable scenes is when Hyun Bin and Ha Ji-won do couple’s exercises together. Ha Ji-won holds his feet while Hyun Bin does sit-ups. The Miracle is a Naver TV Cast mini-series aired from December 12th to December 26th, 2016 for a total of 12 episodes. One day, the condition is turned the other way around, Kwon Shi-yeon wakes up in Kwon Shi-ah’s body while Kwon Shi-ah wakes up in Kwon Shi-yeon’s body. Please Come Back, Soon-Ae is a Korean television series aired on SBS from July 12th to August 31st, 2006. It was aired every Wednesday and Thursday for 16 episodes. Several remakes were made in Russian, Indonesian, and Philippine versions.
