NU’EST Announce the Group’s Disbandment On February 28th, 2022
On February 28th, 2022, Pledis Entertainment announced that one of their artists, NU’EST, would be disbanded on March 14th, 2022, a day before the group’s 10th anniversary. The shocking news made NU’EST fans disappointed and unable to stand the sadness. Through an official statement, Pledis Entertainment has stated: “Hello, this is Pledis Entertainment. We would like to express our gratitude to all the fans who have been supporting NU’EST for the past 10 years. The exclusive artist contract with NU’EST will conclude as of March 14th, 2022. Our company and the members of NU’EST went through careful consideration and discussions on the future of the individual members, what would be the best path for everyone.” Furthermore, the company also thanked NU’EST and mentioned that the group has a special place since it was PLEDIS Entertainment’s first boy group. Each member of NU’EST also shared a heartfelt letter with fans about the group’s disbandment. JR, Aron, Ren, Baekho, and Minhyun shared their sincere gratitude and love for the fans who have been supporting them since day one. Some of them even remember and look back on the past years, how they came so far to the current stage, and apologize to the fans for causing disappointment and pain. NU’EST’s Last Project Before Officially Disbanding
Aside from announcing NU’EST’s disbandment, Pledis Entertainment also explained that NU’EST will finish the group’s activities with the last project before their official disbandment. NU’EST released the group’s last album, Needle & Bubble on March 15th, 2022, on the exact date as the group’s 10th anniversary. The group also set “Spring, Again” as the title track of Needle & Bubble. Aside from that, the album features several re-mastered and alternative versions of their hit tracks such as “Hello”, “Overcome”, “Bet Bet”, “Love Me”, and more. NU’EST’s last album has been very special and emotional to the fans. Each member put a lot of effort into it, even they successfully made stunning appearances through the album’s concept as the members appeared as the archer!
NU’EST Members’ Activity After the Group’s Disbandment
Although NU’EST’s contract with Pledis Entertainment has ended on March 14th, 2022, some members decided to renew their contract with the company. The leader JR with Aron and Ren have decided to not renew their contracts with the company. However, Baekho and Minhyun decided to renew their contracts. All of the members’ decisions have been discussed together, and the company respects all the results after extensive consideration through a discussion.
