ROMEO’s Debut Era and Rising Popularity
On April 28, 2015, ROMEO’s members were introduced to the public through a teaser video. After introducing each member, ROMEO finally officially debuted on May 7, 2015, with a debut single titled “Lovesick” from their first mini album 1st EP: The ROMEO.
After success with their debut, they re-launched their second mini album titled ZERO IN on November 5, 2015. This mini album contains 5 songs, namely “Zero In (Intro),” “Target,” “Present,” “DNA,” and lastly “Dear My Princess.” This time, Romeo chose “Target” as the lead track.
On May 19, 2016, ROMEO released their first digital single titled “Nightmare” as a warm-up for their upcoming comeback. Then, on June 23, they finally released their third mini album titled Miro. Their video clip for Miro starred SHINee’s Minho directly. Not long after, ROMEO released a special mini album entitled First Love on August 23, 2016, with the song “Treasure.”
In the midst of their schedule and promotions, suddenly, Romeo’s fan meeting event had to be canceled. The reason is, this seven-member group had a car accident while heading to their event venue. According to CT Entertainment, the condition of Romeo’s members was fortunately not serious. They only suffered minor injuries. Even so, they ensured that Romeo would not be absent from the Music Bank program which aired on March 31, 2017. “We would like to explain why the fan sign event scheduled for March 30 was canceled. Romeo’s members had an accident on their way to the fan meet location. We immediately took the members to the hospital for an examination. They will still come to Music Bank and Music Core, but will not participate in the photo session as usual. We apologize to all Juliets who have been worried because of this accident, and we will help them to recover quickly,” CT Entertainment said through an official statement. Romeo’s Seunghwan also wrote that their conditions were not problematic and asked fans not to worry. He also apologized and asked fans to be careful on their way home.
In 2017, Romeo released their two new singles, “Without You” and “Stay With Me,” that were added to their 4th EP titled One Fine Day. Romeo also released their Japanese single titled “Hanabi (花火)” in 2018 that was a non-album single. At the time this article is being published, there are still no recent new songs from Romeo or groups activities after 2018.
