Instead of just wondering, let’s see the full story of Hajoon’s pre-debut below! Hajoon was born in Gwangju, South Korea, on July 29th, 1994. As you can see from his profile, Hajoon’s full name is Lee Hajoon, and he goes by Hajoon as his stage name. He also has an English name which is Dylan, the same goes for other members in The Rose who have English names as well. Growing up as a child, Hajoon showed an avid interest in drums. He started playing drums in the fifth grade of elementary school. Hajoon set his goal to learn drums during school. And it really shows how good he is as a drummer now, he has been playing at such a young age and he always diligently studied to play drums. Even though Hajoon’s biggest crush in music is the drum, he also plays other instruments too. He plays the guitar and piano too. Since he likes to listen to music, he sings the songs well too. It’s almost impossible for someone to be that good at everything but he’s living proof. Hajoon is just perfect. Although Hajoon was born in Gwangju, he attended high school in Seoul. That was because his parents told him to go to Seoul and attend school there. He has been living in Seoul since high school. Hajoon went to SOPA, or the Seoul School of Performing Arts, the same school as some K-pop idols or trainees. In SOPA, Hajoon deepened his drum learning since the school also has a drum major. Hajoon was in the same year as N.Flying’s Jaehyun, he is also friends with Seulgi from Red Velvet. Even now, they still keep in touch with each other. While he was in high school, Hajoon joined a competition called Rise-Up Korea Festival Category and he won the grand prize for two years straight, which was in 2010 and 2011. The next year, Hajoon won the gold prize. What a mad talent Hajoon is! After graduating from high school, Hajoon went to Dankook University where he majored in practical music and learned even more about drums. Hajoon must really love drums so much, he has been playing drums for over half of his life. In 2015, Hajoon met Jaehyeong and they went busking in Hongdae, the popular street where musicians show their skills in front of people on the street. Originally, Jaehyeong went with Dojoon who became the singer while he played the instrument. But Dojoon was still a trainee of DSP Media at that time, and his schedule was too busy to join the busking. However, Dojoon later joined Hajoon and Jaehyeong. The three of them formed an indie band named Windfall. They also wrote their music and did a cover of some popular songs and uploaded their videos on YouTube. The popularity of Windfall as an indie band reached an agency called J&Star Company. The three of them got recruited as trainees. Congratulations, Dojoon, Jaehyeong, and Hajoon!

However, it doesn’t mean that Hajoon was late. Instead, Hajoon made a debut at the very right time. In 2017, Sammy Kim or Woosung joined the line-up of their band. Woosung was a contestant of K-pop Star Season 1 and was originally preparing for a solo debut. Woosung then became the vocalist of The Rose alongside Dojoon.
